Top 5 Friday (Oct. 24)

Welcome to the second installment of the LoveDancehall Top 5. The following are hand picked tracks that were on replay throughout the week and are guaranteed to put a smile on your face and a skank in your step. Be warned, this mix of Reggae, Dancehall and Afrobeats will have you shaking hips, lips and dreadlocks from start to finish.

#1. Marlon Asher ft. Pressure Busspipe – See Me Through

At the top this week we have a collaboration from the Ganja Farmer himself Marlon Asher and one of the hottest names in reggae right now, Pressure Busspipe, . “See Me Through” is a rootsy rootsy lyrically charged track with a bass line meant to be played loud! Turn it up!

#2. Protoje – Styilin’

Protoje makes his way onto the chart with his track Stylin’, a song about an empress too concerned with the wrong things in life. Protoje delivers his trademark lyrical sound over a rootsy riddim. New tracks from Protoje are always something to get excited about.

#3. Ice Prince ft. Terry G – In The Morning

The Nigerian superstar released three new tracks this last week but this one is the pick of the bunch. In The Morning is a simple track with that Ricky Blaze/Gyptian sound to it, which means it is extremely catchy, dare you not to like this one…

#4. Sauti Sol – Nishike (Touch Me)

This is not a new track but it is definitively worthy of a spot on the charts at some point, that point is now. Why? The Kenyan outfit took home the award for “Best African Artist 2014” at this years MTV European Music Awards. In doing so they became the first Kenyan group to claim this honor, we’ve featured them on LoveDancehall before and needless to say, this makes us happy and proud.

#5. Tiana – Balance Pon Mi Head

A club banger through and through. Nuf chance for the gyal dem to bruk out and show out on this track. Balance! Balance!
