Bajan artist gaining big recognition.
Arlon Griffith, “Fantom Dundeal” is an artist coming out of Barbados who has started to make a real name for himself over the past few years. What makes him such an exciting artist is his melodic style, singing/toasting over beats which are all positive, happy, sunny, and a reflection of the bajan, island life. Barbados has been typically known for producing the worlds hottest Soca, but Fantom Dundeal has taken bajan music in a new direction and has become the first internationally recognized Reggae/Dancehall artist to come from the island.
In Barbados, Fantom Dundeal is now widely recognized and has been active on the live stage and club scene for years, opening for acts such as Kardinal Offishall, Konshens, Darrio, KMC, Machel Montano, Shaggy, Tarrus Riley, Beenie Man, Lady Saw, Beres Hammond, Aidonia, Mavado, Sizzla, Junior Kelly and TYGA. Add to this the fact that he has been nominated for the Barbados Music Awards twice and you can see that the talent is undeniable. Fantom Dundeal has completed numerous music videos including hits like “Twisted”, “One Minute”, “TilT It” and “Rollin/Beg Nuh Fren”. More impressive are sales of his first album, over 2,500 copies sold in half a year within Barbados alone.
“Must Buss” which is “my way of saying I have to make it in life (positively)” is the motto he sticks by, and one we should remember. So far he is well on track to making it and the future can only hold further success for Fantom Dundeal.
